The Bingham Family

One of my favorite families to shoot came back for a second round with me.
I sure love it when that happens....

Tyler and Alyson are so natural that they walk around the mall like this. For real. They do. They told me so.
I imagine that they stumble over each other quite a bit though. Hummmm.....

And just look at their offspring. Can they get any sweeter? I think I'm getting a cavity just by looking at this photo.

Alyson mentioned she wanted some profiles for her walls.....

I think I like them better in black and white.

Pretty in Pink

Anika wanted to be photographed in the pink leaves.
I happily obliged.

And her curls?
They're natural.
I say "NO FAIR!" :)

More from the Bingham Family photo session up soon...

The Rowe Family

What a pleasure it was for me to go up into the Sundance mountains with the charming Rowe family.
We hiked off the beaten path, left our stuff sprawled all over the mountain, and chased the light all evening long.
I had a fabulous time.
Thank you Rowe Family!!

My Matias

I've been making periodic trips to Alisha's studio this year so that she can document me, my kids, and my progressing pregnancy on film. (You may remember these with Isaiah.) The most recent trip was actually in August when she photographed me and my Matias. Sophia and I are booked to go in next week for the third installment. I absolutely CAN NOT WAIT!

Having these photos done by her has been one of the best things I have ever done. I will never forget this year because of the amazing images she has made for me. I would recommend to all of you, go get your portrait commissioned by this incredible artist. It is such a unique experience and I know you will just LOVE and APPRECIATE her work for decades to come.

At Last

Meredith and Nathan tied the knot.

Let There Be Light

I am totally light obsessed.
Completely and wholly addicted to it.
Especially when it looks like this.
And one of the most handsome little guys I've ever seen, steps into it.
And I have my camera around my neck.

This little cutie was captured at Nathan and Meredith's wedding.
More images from that event to follow shortly.

Chase + Chelsey = Awesomeness

I absolutely COULD NOT WAIT to post a tiny teaser from the amazing wedding I shot last night.
Just take a moment to adore the beauty that this couple exudes...

Lots more of these (and more) coming soon.

Man and Woman: Behind the Scenes

I have this friend.
His name is Duston.
He's really impatient. ;)

That being said....

Remember when I assisted Duston with his bridal shoot?
Well he posted them and they are fantastic!
Go look, quick.
But not before you look at my behind the scenes imagery.

The O'Neal Family

I've been raving about Jessie O'Neal on my blog for a while now.
Well guess what?
She hired me to take her family portraits this year!!
I felt so honored.
This photo shoot was like a dream.
Awesome locations, perfect lighting, cooperative kids who are obviously the children of a photographer.
I had so much fun taking these images and being present while this family interacted with one another.
I've been on a bit of a high ever since.

Thanks O'Neal fam! You are MUCH appreciated. :)

Gear For Sale

I am selling my Canon 24-70 L 2.8 lens. It is in excellent condition. I've had it for about 9 months.

I originally bought this lens new a couple years ago and as luck would have it I got a lemon. :(
I was constantly dealing with back focusing and I just couldn't count on it to come through for me when I really needed sharp images.
I had it serviced by Canon for a full year, multiple times, but each time I would continue to struggle with it, to the point where I would never use it because it was so unpredictable.
These were sad times for me. ;)
Last December I called Canon, explained the situation and they recognized that I had a flawed lens.
They had me mail them my copy and in return sent me a refurbished copy.
I have not had a problem with it since.
It is truly and excellent lens, tack sharp, so versatile and convenient to use because of the mm range.
Total workhorse! I love this lens.
I am selling it because I have decided that I am more of a fixed lens shooter.

I have the original box it came in, the soft case, the hood and of course the lens itself.
I am selling it for $1150.00.

If you are interested in owning the best zoom lens out there for Canon users, contact me via email.

I'm going to go get myself a 35mm 1.4 now!! Woohoo!

Isaiah Laughing

Steven is the best assistant I could ask for.
He got my grumpy little Isaiah (who wanted to play with his friends instead of take pictures with me) to laugh, by reminding him of THIS little incident.

By far one of my most favorite photographers ever.

Duston Todd has a creative flair that is so unique and unconventional that I often wonder how deep the well goes that he is tapping.
I mean seriously, he must have more than one and they all seem infinite.
Maybe he has a circle of wells?
Maybe these wells of his are surrounding a sea of creative inspiration and he's draining them???
That would certainly explain his shirt. ;)
For reals though, this man never seems to run out of ideas.
After getting to know him better over the past month or so, I am learning that this is just the way his mind works.
He doesn't ever seem to try very hard to blow peoples' minds.
Truly a gifted artist and creative visionary.
His natural talent just happens.

I like rubbing shoulders bumping belly's with him. :)

Duston shot an amazing bridal session with Matt and Kate (who had probably my most favorite engagement shoot EVER) last night.
I came to "assist", hang out, laugh at his slightly inappropriate jokes, do his grunt work, eat his candy faster than him, and photograph him in action.
More behind the scene images from this session when the the official blog is posted.

This photo was shot at 9 o'clock pm, under a fluorescent light, outside of a 7-11 where I got a pina colada/cherry slurpee and Duston tried to be all healthy and opted for a bottle of water.
So much for drinking a milkshake.
