Ok. Get this....
I'm about to embark on what will most likely prove to be the craziest birthday party EVER!
Here's the story.
Sophia never got a birthday party when she turned 5.
Mainly because her birthday is in August and frankly, she didn't have any friends yet.
It wasn't until she started kindergarten that she actually started to make friends.
For 6 months we've been putting off throwing her a party.
First it was, "Wait until you have friends to invite."
Then it became, "Mommy is soooooo busy this fall working."
Later it was, "Mommy is so tired because your brother is about to come. Lets wait till after the baby is born."
Then it was Christmas.
Then it was, "Lets just wait until your half birthday. We'll celebrate then."
Now, finally, we are having the long anticipated party.
This wouldn't be so overwhelming except for the fact that Matias actually had his birthday last week so now we are throwing one big party for the both of them. 2 in 1= the perfect plan, right? Yeah, Im not so sure...
I printed out 35...YES 35 call me crazy...invitations and they were passed out very haphazardly today at lunch recess. I know this because I was there, watching in horror and Matias ran around to all his friends (I hope) randomly giving them invitations. I have NO IDEA who was invited. It was awkward. Mainly because I knew not everyone on the playground was getting an invitation and the LAST thing I wanted to do was to hurt anyones feelings. I didn't know how else to get these invites home though so this was how it went down. I'll admit, it wasn't my proudest moment.
Anyway, now here we are 2 days away from a party that we haven't even planned. We are totally just gonna wing it. I'm nervous. There could potentially be 35 party goers at my house for 2 hours on Saturday. Probably not everyone will come, but still, the idea of a potential 35 kids at one time is freaking me out. Steven assures me is gonna be great and tons of fun. I told him he's in charge. :)
So needless to say, wish us luck.
I will take pictures of the mayhem. Then return and report. :)
