To Flickr or Not To Flickr

That is the question.

Ok, What is the big deal? Do I need one of these accounts? Why? I use Photobucket and it seems to work just fine. What is it about Flickr that makes it so special? Do you use Flickr? Why? In what ways is it amazing? Please share, Im dying to know what all the fuss is about.

Comments:
Can't help you on that one! I'm ages behind on all that stuff, as you well know. :)
Can't wait to see what everyone has to say though.

oh Flickr.
my reasons:
1. groups
2. plug-ins
3. inspirations and sharing.

Groups would be cool, but I am not a member of any... I mostly just use mine for posting purposes!

Plug ins? Would you mind being more specific? What are plug ins and why do I want them?

I don't even know what flickr is... but if it is something I should not be living without, let me know. I would be willing to look into it.

I of course don't use these sites for posting purposes, but when it comes to finding great photos, I go to flickr.

I don't think that helps at all. But flickr is where I go for great images.

i am just glad i am not the only one not using it- i am a little behind- i would like to know also

Kiera,
I only use Photobucket - I
think one of the differences with Flickr is that people can leave comments.
With the forum, I get all sorts of comments so really see no need for Flickr - my two cents

I use flickr. I think the setup and layout is easier, it looks nicer, and it seems more reputable.
However....I have still refused to pay for an account, because then I will have to keep it up perpetually. Consequently, my earlier pictures in my account are all "hiding" and no one can see them. Thats annoying.
But I still don't want to pay for it.

I currently only use photobucket, but I have wondered the same thing. So many people seem to love it, but I haven't found any reasons to change from photobucket, yet. Would love to know what the groups and plug-ins are!
